If you are driven to perform to the best of your ability, the VHP Platform is for you.

ABOUT US

It all started with a passion project of our mother company 77designz. We wanted to build an enduro bike that delivers uncompromised performance. No market studies, no bullshit marketing kinematics, only serious engineering straight to the point of making the fastest enduro bike we can imagine.

THE GOAL

We aimed to design an enduro race bike that climbs like an all-mountain bike but descends like a downhill bike. We knew we needed to go down the “High Pivot Point” road to achieve the highest performance. But there was one thing bothering us with that: the high anti-rise that usually comes along with “High Pivot Point” bikes.

We wanted a bike that conserves the geometry, offers enough traction under braking and provides massive support under pedaling with no pedal kickback. We were ready to start as soon as we figured out how we had to design the kinematics.

We designed with the rule of simplicity: Straight lines, no unnecessary weight or shape. We believe that straight tubes do the best job in terms of stiffness and weight ratios, and they hold strong against impacts.

THE NAME

Our name, ‘KAVENZ’ originates from the German word “Kaventsmann” and means ‘Monster Wave’ or reliable and robust person in our local slang (Masemate). As we are producing most parts of the frame in Germany, we thought that the name suits us well.

media about kavenz

It’s on the descents where things get good. And I mean really, really good, especially if you’re the type of rider that enjoys tight, technical downhill trails, the kind where a new chunky puzzle waits around every corner.
— Mike Kazimer
Compared to candidates like the Santa Cruz Megatower, the Propain Tyee, the Rocky Mountain Altitude, the Trek Slash or the Specialized Enduro, the small-series bike doesn’t need to hide. Nobody can keep up with the Kavenz, especially on rough stretches.
— Arne Koop
77desingz is taking an unusual route with the Kavenz. A high pivot point on a four-joint rear triangle is extremely rare. The function of the chassis is absolutely impressive. The aluminum frame made in Germany for an enduro also remains competitive in terms of weight. The customer also receives many options to meet personal preferences in terms of geometry and wheel size on the rear wheel.
— Peter Nilges

All in all, I’ve been very impressed by this small German company’s first bike offering – so much so, that I persuaded my house mate to buy one! The Kavenz VHP16 is a great example of a well engineered enduro bike, blending some phenomenal descending performance with pleasant climbing manners, and a bike that I can highly recommend.
