Hey there! What's your name, and what's your favorite trail to ride on your Kavenz mountain bike?

Hey, my name is Nico Lamm and most of the time I ride the downhill tracks in Heidelberg and Klinovec. But the most fun racetrack was the Worldcup track in Loudenvielle last year.

Where are your from?

Im from Bavaria, Germany.

How old are you?

24

So, how tall are you, and what’s your frame size?

I’m 191cm tall and I ride an XL frame on the enduro and a XXL frame on the DH bike.

What is your riding style? Are you more like enduro racer, freerider or maybe a bike park rat?

I love riding fast and rough downhill tracks but enduro absolutely is an important part of my training and something I really like as well.

Tell us, what's the one thing you absolutely love about your Kavenz bike? Any details or features that make it stand out for you?

I love the well thought-out simplicity of the bikes. They never make problems and are super easy to service while performing well on the trail. Even my mechanic noticed last year that he had almost nothing to do at the races.

Are you rolling on 27.5, 29, or maybe something in between? How do your wheels choice has an impact on your bike handling?

Since I'm a big guy I love the full 29 setup. Especially the DH bike feels a lot more balanced and stable this way. On the enduro, I ride mullet since the bike corners a lot better but maybe I will change to a full 29 in the future.

How much suspension travel does your Kavenz bike have, and how does it handle the bumps, jumps, and surprises on the trail?

My Downhill bike has 200mm in the front and 185mm in the back. It feels smooth and stable on the downhill tracks. My enduro bike has 170mm in the front and 160mm in the back and it’s way more playful and light which is perfect for my hometrails.

Share a funny or memorable moment on the trails with your Kavenz – something that still brings a smile to your face.

My favorite moment of 2023 was winning the IXS Downhill Cup race in Bad Tabarz on my Enduro bike. After having some issues with the prototype chainstay on the DH bike I had to switch to my enduro bike shortly before qualifying. In the end, I managed to win the event which was really unexpected but a great moment for me.

If you could take your Kavenz bike anywhere in the world for an epic ride, where would it be?

Definitely to Portes du Soleil, because of the beautiful scenery when travelling via gondola to Morgins or Champery. Or to Madeira – I’ve never been there, but it looks really beautiful.

If your mountain biking adventures had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it? What music gets you pumped up before hitting the trails?

I usually listen to the All-Out 2000s playlist on Spotify before my races. There are a lot of banger tracks in this playlist haha. But to get really into the zone I like to listen to Linkin Park songs.
