Alex Scheil
Height: 179/5.8ft
Frame size: small & medium
Hey there! What's your name, and what's your favorite trail to ride on your Kavenz mountain bike?
My name is Alex Scheil. I like to ride all kinds of trails. Just depends on my mood for the day.
Where are your from?
I live in Linz, Austria.
How old are you?
I’m 35 years old.
So, how tall are you, and what’s your frame size?
I'm 179cm / 5,8ft and ride a size Small for bikepark and a Medium for trail riding.
What is your riding style? Are you more like enduro racer, freerider or maybe a bike park rat?
I like all faces of mtb. I’ve started riding like 20 years ago with natural, alpine trails. I still enjoy that kind of riding but over the years I’ve turned really into a bikepark rat.
Tell us, what's the one thing you absolutely love about your Kavenz bike? Any details or features that make it stand out for you?
The main thing I absolutely love about the Kavenz is its user friendly maintenance and reliability. I ride quite a lot and there is nothing more frustrating than a broken bike in the middle of the season.
The other thing why I think the Kavenz stands out is its versatility. Just a quick change of some parts and you got a different bike.
Are you rolling on 27.5, 29, or maybe something in between? How do your wheels choice has an impact on your bike handling?
For bikepark MX/Mullet and for Trail full 29".
29" in the front and the grip it generates is a go to for me. And in the Bikepark I just like the little added playfulness of the 27,5" in the back.
How much suspension travel does your Kavenz bike have, and how does it handle the bumps, jumps, and surprises on the trail?
My Bikepark Bike got 200mm in the front and 180mm in the back. I rode it quite a time with 180mm in the front, but a double crown is a better match for the performance you get from the VHP18 platform.
My Enduro bike got 160mm front and back.
But I can't wait to get my hands around the VHP12.
Share a funny or memorable moment on the trails with your Kavenz – something that still brings a smile to your face.
Definitely Livigno. Standing on top off the middle of the alps and knowing it doesn't matter which trail i throw at the Kavenz it will handle it with ease. The variety of trails there is the perfect playground for the Kavenz!
If you could take your Kavenz bike anywhere in the world for an epic ride, where would it be?
Phu that's a tough one. But I think New Zealand in general. There are so many places which look damn fun to ride!
If your mountain biking adventures had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it? What music gets you pumped up before hitting the trails?
All time mtb classics like ‘For What It's Worth’. But nothing beats the sound of tires occasionally touching the ground in rough trail sections!
