Hey there! What's your name, and what's your favorite trail to ride on your Kavenz mountain bike?

I am Christoph Ruhstorfer my favourite trail is not even a trail it’s more a secret section in morzine / pleney France. I really like to ride secret steep trails in the nature with loam.  But if I have to choose one trail I would say Schladming dh Track is one of my favourites. Very fast sections with jumps roots and all you need.

Where are your from?

I am from Germany

How old are you?

I am 25 years old.

So, how tall are you, and what’s your frame size?

I am 187cm / 6.1ft, and currently I am riding frame size L reach 480 on my Kavenz. But I think I will try 500 next time. I like to ride smaller bikes.

What is your riding style? Are you more like enduro racer, freerider or maybe a bike park rat?

My riding style is more fast and aggressive. I do everything, enduro racing or bikepark shredding but I also like to build my own stuff with steeps, jumps and something like that. I like every kind of biking which goes in the mtb direction.

Tell us, what's the one thing you absolutely love about your Kavenz bike? Any details or features that make it stand out for you?

What I like on my Kavenz.. there are so many things I like..

The clean optic with the small pipes and the short chainstays which makes it damn agile in the corners.

The seatangle is also nice which makes it easier to pedal.

It’s very user friendly!

Are you rolling on 27.5, 29, or maybe something in between? How do your wheels choice has an impact on your bike handling?

I was on 27.5 before I came to Kavenz. At the beginning I wanted to go with mixed wheels to be more agile but than I bought carbon wheels in full 29 to pedal a bit easier in races. I definitely have done a great choice with full 29. It’s still very agile because of the short chainstays and easier to ride over roots and easier to pedal. It’s a bit faster I think.

How much suspension travel does your Kavenz bike have, and how does it handle the bumps, jumps, and surprises on the trail?

My suspension travel is 170 in the front and 160 in the back. It’s a great way to do every kind of biking. Go fast on dh tracks and also ride some shorter smaller hometrails. I can hit big jumps on it as the vink line in chatel and also do enduro races on it. In my opinion a bike for everyone and every kind of trail.

Share a funny or memorable moment on the trails with your Kavenz – something that still brings a smile to your face.

I had so many memorable moments on my Kavenz…
But one of the craziest moments was the Mountain of Hell mass start race in France from 3600m high down with nearly 1000 starters.
I overtook so many riders while I rode 100 km/h on an icy snow pist.

I’ve done this race 3 times and 2 times on Kavenz now and I get better and faster every year. First year p 86 than p70 and last year I was under the best 30 of all riders with a broken shifter until I crashed hard few meters before finish so I “only” managed it to stay under the best 100 of all riders

If you could take your Kavenz bike anywhere in the world for an epic ride, where would it be?

I have many destinations where I want to go. The next step will be Madeira and Canada for some steep nature trails.

If your mountain biking adventures had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it? What music gets you pumped up before hitting the trails?

I like to hear rock music while riding. But there is not even a concrete direction of a type of music. Every situation belongs to a different type of music.
