Hey there! What's your name, and what's your favorite trail to ride on your Kavenz mountain bike?
I'm Nicolás. One of my favorite trails is La Parva, in the Andes mountains of Chile. However, I enjoy riding my bike anywhere.
Where are your from?
Santiago, Chile.
How old are you?
27
So, how tall are you, and what’s your frame size?
I'm 178 cm tall. I use a size L frame because it provides greater stability. The adjustable chainstays on the Kavenz make it a super versatile bike for any circuit.
What is your riding style? Are you more like enduro racer, freerider or maybe a bike park rat?
I'm actually a downhill racer, but Kavenz gave me a bike that allows me to compete in both enduro and downhill thanks to its various modifications. My style easily adapts to any terrain, and I enjoy all the trails that my day-to-day riding offers.
Tell us, what's the one thing you absolutely love about your Kavenz bike? Any details or features that make it stand out for you?
What I love most about Kavenz is its suspension system, which provides incredible stability. The high pivot is amazing; it makes the drivetrain silent, and unlike other high pivot bikes, Kavenz offers smooth pedaling. The frame geometry is very comfortable. I especially love how it corners, and when climbing, the seat tube has a wonderful position that allows for easy ascents.
Are you rolling on 27.5, 29, or maybe something in between? How do your wheels choice has an impact on your bike handling?
I'm riding with 29" wheels on both ends. I prefer 29" wheels for their smoothness at high speeds. Kavenz, with its short chainstays, creates a stable bike with 29" wheels and phenomenal turning, making it playful yet stable. The various modifications possible make it the bike I was looking for and needed.
How much suspension travel does your Kavenz bike have, and how does it handle the bumps, jumps, and surprises on the trail?
It has 170 mm of travel in the front and 160 mm in the rear. The frame works incredibly smoothly, allowing me to go fast in areas that previously limited me. Bumps and surprises aren't an issue as it forgives even my mistakes in line choice. I love it for jumping; it feels very balanced.
Share a funny or memorable moment on the trails with your Kavenz – something that still brings a smile to your face.
I remember a race (national championship) where I was the only one with an enduro bike, while the other racers had downhill bikes. I ended up beating all of them, which made me realize that this was the bike I needed. The result was a clear source of pride for the bike.
If you could take your Kavenz bike anywhere in the world for an epic ride, where would it be?
I'd go to Canada (Whistler) and record a professional video with it.
If your mountain biking adventures had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it? What music gets you pumped up before hitting the trails?
I'm old school when it comes to biking, so the playlists from Earthed and New World Disorder really get me pumped. That music injects adrenaline into me.
